ABOUT DR DUMANIAN

Chicago Plastic Surgeon Dr. Dumanian combines a excellent training with a caring and attentive bedside manner. He is triple board-certified in plastic surgery, general surgery and hand surgery. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor of Surgery and Program Director of Plastic Surgery. He lectures nationally on repair of the abdominal wall. This gives him the experience to perform all types of cutting edge surgeries of the abdomen. His ground breaking work on the bionic arm procedure for arm amputees was featured on the cover of the prestigious journal Lancet and in the New Yorker Magazine. His specialities also include reconstructive breast surgery after cancer treatment (DIEP flaps), aesthetic surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, hand surgery, and reconstructive microsurgery. Dr. Gregory Dumanian, a native Chicagoan, graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, and trained at the finest medical programs in the country. After graduating with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, he completed a five-year residency in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He followed this with three years of plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh, one of the premier plastic surgery programs in the country. He then completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the Curtis Hand Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
